Drinks/Decor for the 4th!
We are usually out all day on the fourth so finding something to drink that can be kept in a cooler or easily mixed up before is a MUST. As much as I love frozen margs they will not survive in this heat, sadly. I am also not a huge fan of carbonated drinks. I would pick juice/lemonade over soda ANY DAY! Thats why I choose lemonade to be the the mixer for this Fourth of July drink! I plan on making a big batch and pouring it back into the lemonade container to keep in the cooler!
Also, this summer Corona came out with the Corona Refresca and OMG are they good!! It comes in three tropical flavors Guava Lime, Passionfruit Lime and Coconut Lime. Yeah, they do not disappoint. Spiked sparkling drinks are super popular right now ad Corona is following the trend. The Refresca beats the competitors because it has more flavor than other sparkling drinks on the market right now. So, if you're a Corona fan you need to try these. If you are not a Corona fan than I would still recommend because the flavors are that GOOD! They are not a low calorie drink option but I think a holiday is the perfect time to splurge a little!
I also snagged these cute dip jars, star plates and mini flags (3 pack) at the Bullseye Playground (Target Dollar Spot) They are running a special right now, buy three get one free. They have tons of decorations to add a little festiveness to your 4th of July celebration. I plan on using star cookie cutters to cut out watermelon, pineapple, apples, cheese and chicken salad sandwiches! These $3 star plates come in sets of two and would make perfect serving plates to hold my "star" food! I haven't completely decided on the exact two dips to put in my "stars and stripes" bowls. But I think I'm going to cheat and buy some spinach dip and make some guac! These three below are my FAVORITE things to add to my guac. If I have time I like to add finely chopped onion. I get the "Everything Seasoning" and "Himalayan Pink Salt" from Walmart!
These star cookie cutters are from Michael's! They qualify for their weekly coupon of 40%-50% off a regular priced item. I got mine for $2.50!
